Responsible Beef Production
Biomass energy
We own and operate an anaerobic digester plant that converts manure and slurry—by-products from our Wagyu herd—into clean, renewable energy. This powers local homes, businesses, and our own Kingsbury Farms facilities. After the waste products have passed through our anaerobic digester, we are left with nutrient rich digestate which is used to improve our soil health and support regenerative farming. This process reduces reliance on synthetic fertilisers, lowers our carbon footprint, and reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability, energy independence, and responsible land stewardship.

At Véire, sustainability isn’t an add-on — it’s the foundation of everything we do. Our approach integrates a closed-loop farming system that harmonises animal care, land stewardship, and resource efficiency.

ANIMAL WELFARE
Our farming system is designed to work with nature, not against it. We raise our animals in low-density, high-welfare conditions. That allows for daily observation, better health outcomes, and reduced environmental impact. Daily health checks and veterinary oversight ensure early intervention when needed. Animal welfare is fundamental to our operations. From day 20 to 22 months, our calves receive dedicated care, starting with warm, clean, and well-ventilated housing, proper nutrition, and close health monitoring. As they grow, they are transitioned to balanced wagyu-specific diets in spacious environments that encourage natural behaviours.

carbon conscious
We’ve also developed a scientifically formulated feed that helps reduce time to finishing. This means our cattle reach full maturity younger than traditional Wagyu — enhancing meat quality while cutting our carbon footprint by over 40%. We maintain a no unnecessary antibiotics administering treatment, administering treatment only when essential for animal welfare. Every animal is fully traceable, with strict on-farm biosecurity protocols. Our feeding system complements this model by ensuring consistent growth cycles, reducing emissions, and enhancing animal welfare. Together, these initiatives create a farming system where nothing goes to waste and every element contributes to long-term environmental sustainability.
The feed is also key contributor towards marbling.
Putting People First
Staff development is a priority, with ongoing training in areas such as animal welfare, sustainability, and quality standards. Educational workshops, cross-department initiatives, and regular social events help build strong team morale and a shared sense of purpose. We are also deeply engaged in the wider community. Through iCare, our in-house charity, we support individuals and families facing hardship, while our involvement with Evolve Women promotes empowerment through mentorship, training, and leadership opportunities. We also maintain close ties with the local farming community. We believe in creating lasting impact through kindness, respect, and a culture of continuous support.
